This report is the second edition of a study of the ABS plastics market globally and in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries.
The objective of the study is to analyze the ABS plastics market in Russia, the EAEU countries (which, in addition to Russia, include Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan), and the global market for this product.
The object of the study is ABS plastic (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), a high-impact technical thermoplastic resin based on a copolymer of acrylonitrile with butadiene and styrene with the general formula (C8H8)x (C4H6)y (C3H3N)z.
This work is a desk study. The following sources of information were used: data from statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international databases of the UN (UNdata), World Bank, and Eurostat; International and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); Unified Procurement Information System; rail transportation statistics; SBIS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; industry and regional press, conference materials, websites of companies producing and consuming the products under study; scientific and technical literature (Elibrary, etc.), the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS) patent database; the InfoMine database, etc.
Research timeframe: 2015-2025; estimated 2026; forecast 2027-2035.
Research geography: Russia – comprehensive, detailed market analysis; global and EAEU countries – general retrospective market analysis.
The report consists of 7 parts and contains 106 pages, including 30 figures, 31 tables, and 2 appendices.
The first chapter is devoted to the global ABS plastics market. This section provides data on capacity, international trade in this product, its selling prices, consumption, and the global ABS plastics market's development prospects.
Chapter two presents information on the ABS plastics manufacturing technologies used in industry, production capacity in Russia, and the main raw materials used for its production.
Chapter three analyzes ABS plastics production in Russia. It presents product quality requirements, traces production dynamics, and provides data on production volumes from 2015 to the first six months of 2026. It also provides an estimate of production for 2026, and describes the leading ABS plastic manufacturers and their current status.
Chapter four analyzes foreign trade operations with ABS plastics in Russia and the EAEU countries from 2015 to 2025. It presents data on the export and import volumes of the products under study, presents the geographic structure of supply, and analyzes information on individual ABS plastic exporters and importers. Chapter 5 presents information on the price of ABS plastics on the domestic Russian market and analyzes data on changes in export and import prices for this product in Russia from 2015 to 2025.
Chapter 6 is devoted to ABS plastic consumption in Russia. This section presents the production and consumption balance of the studied products, presents their application structure in Russia, examines the main areas of ABS plastic use, and describes the largest consumers of this product.
The seventh and final chapter is devoted to the forecast for ABS plastic production and consumption in Russia through 2035.
The appendices provide contact information for Russian ABS plastic manufacturers, as well as the largest consumers of this product who process third-party products.
