This report is currently available in Russian language only. However, we can provide an English version of the report within 3 weeks after receiving a payment.
This report is the third edition of a study of the polystyrene market globally and in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries.
The objective of the study is to analyze the polystyrene market in Russia, the EAEU countries (which, in addition to Russia, include Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan), and the global market for this product.
The object of the study is polystyrene, a product of styrene polymerization, a thermoplastic polymer with a linear structure and the chemical formula (C8H8)n.
This work is a desk study. The sources of information used were data from the statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international databases of the UN (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); the Unified Information System in Procurement; rail transportation statistics; the SBIS database; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; Industry and regional press, conference materials, websites of companies manufacturing and consuming the products under study; scientific and technical literature (e.g., elibrary), the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS) patent database; the InfoMine database, etc.
Research timeframe: 2015-2025; estimated 2026; forecast 2027-2035.
Research geography: Russia – comprehensive, detailed market analysis; global and EAEU countries – general retrospective market analysis.
The report consists of 7 parts and contains 108 pages, including 29 figures, 34 tables, and 2 appendices.
The first chapter is devoted to the global polystyrene market. This section presents data on capacity, international trade in this product, sales prices, consumption, and development prospects for the global polystyrene market.
Chapter two presents information on the technologies used in polystyrene production, production capacity in Russia, and the main raw materials used for its production.
Chapter three analyzes polystyrene production in Russia. It presents product quality requirements, traces production dynamics, and provides data on production volumes from 2015 to 2025. It also provides an estimate of 2026 production based on data for the first six months of 2026. It also identifies the leading manufacturers and their current status.
Chapter four analyzes foreign trade transactions with polystyrene in Russia and the EAEU countries from 2015 to 2025. It presents data on export and import volumes of the products under study, presents the geographic structure of supply, and analyzes information on individual polystyrene exporters and importers.
Chapter 5 presents information on the price of polystyrene in the domestic Russian market and analyzes data on changes in export and import prices for the product from 2015 to 2025.
Chapter 6 is devoted to polystyrene consumption in Russia. This section presents the production and consumption balance of the product under study, presents its application structure in Russia, examines the main areas of polystyrene use, and describes the largest consumer companies.
The seventh and final chapter is devoted to the forecast for polystyrene production and consumption in Russia through 2035.
The appendices provide contact information for Russian polystyrene producers, as well as the largest consumers of this product who process third-party products.
Target audience of the study:
– Polystyrene market participants and raw materials for this product;
– Potential investors.
This study is intended to serve as a reference guide for marketing departments and decision-makers working in the chemical market.
