Formic Acid and Formates in Russia, the EAEU and the world: Production, Market and Forecast (2 edition)
PDF Copy
This report is currently available in Russian language only. However, we can provide an English version of the report within 3 weeks after receiving a payment.
This report is the second edition of a study of the formic acid and formate markets in Russia, the EAEU, and globally.
The objective of the study is to analyze the formic acid and formate markets.
The objects of the study are formic acid and formates (layers and esters of formic acid).
This work is a desk study. The following sources of information were used: data from statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan); international UN databases (UNdata), Trademap, World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (up to 2022); railway transportation statistics; the SBIS database; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; industry and regional press, conference materials, and websites of manufacturers and consumers of the products under study. Scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS) patent database; the InfoMine database, etc.
Research timeframe: 2015-2025; forecast: 2026-2030/2035.
Research geography: Russian Federation – comprehensive, detailed market analysis; global; EAEU countries – brief retrospective analysis.
A distinctive feature of this review is the examination of the Russian formic acid market, as well as each type of formate under consideration, with a detailed consumption structure and characteristics of the main consuming industries. A description of the global market and the markets of EAEU countries is also provided.
The report consists of 7 parts and contains 111 pages, including 33 figures, 39 tables, and an appendix.
The first chapter presents a brief overview of the global market for the chemicals under study (with an assessment of global production capacity, volumes and structure of production and consumption, foreign trade operations, and global prices).
The second chapter of the review presents information on existing production technologies for formic acid and formates (formic acid salts and esters), including some of the most commonly used (sodium, calcium, and potassium formates), their characteristics, and the raw materials required for production. Data on the main raw material suppliers and supply routes is also presented.
The third chapter is devoted to the production of formic acid and formates in Russia from 2015 to 2025. It presents the requirements of existing regulatory and technical documentation for product quality, examines the current state of production, and identifies prospects for creating new production capacities for these chemicals.
The fourth chapter presents data on foreign trade transactions between Russia and the EAEU countries with the chemicals under review (by type) from 2015 to 2025. The largest foreign supplier companies, as well as Russian recipient companies, are described.
Chapter 5 analyzes data on formic acid and formate prices in the Russian domestic market, as well as data on changes in export and import prices from 2015 to 2025.
Chapter 6 examines the consumption of formic acid and formates (by type) in Russia from 2015 to 2025. It presents production-demand balances for these products, the industry structure of consumption, and describes the current status of the main consuming industries and the largest consumer companies.
Chapter 7 of the review presents a forecast for the development of the Russian formic acid and formate market through 2030/35.
The appendix provides addresses and contact information for the main Russian formic acid and formate producers and consumers.
Target audience of the study:
- formic acid and formate market participants – producers, consumers, and traders;
- potential investors.
The proposed study is intended to serve as a reference guide for marketing departments and management decision makers operating in the formic acid and formate market.
