This report is the fourth edition of the urea market research in Russia, the EAEU countries and the world.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the urea markets, Russian and EAEU countries, and forecast its development.

The object of study is urea of grades A and B.

The work presented is a desk research. Data from the statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan) were used as sources of information; UN international databases (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); Unified information system in the field of procurement; railway transport statistics; VLSI databases; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; industry and regional press, conference materials, Internet sites of manufacturing enterprises and consumers of the products under study; scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), FIPS patent database; Infomine database, etc.

Chronological scope of the study: 1997-2023, assessment 2023-2024, forecast – 2024-2030.

Geography of the study: Russian Federation – comprehensive detailed market analysis; CIS countries and the world - general retrospective market analysis.

The report consists of 7 parts, contains 203 pages, including 65 tables, 43 figures and 2 appendices.

The first chapter of the report provides a brief description of the global urea market and separately some countries of the former USSR in 2005-2023. Production capacity, trade demand for urea and world prices are given.

The second chapter of the report provides information about the raw materials required for the production of urea and its characteristics. Also in this chapter, the technology of urea production is discussed in detail. In addition, data is provided on the main suppliers of raw materials, directions and volumes of supplies, methods of transportation and storage.

The third chapter of the report is devoted to the production of urea in Russia and the EAEU countries. The chapter provides statistical and estimated data on the volume of urea production in Russia, Belarus and other EAEU countries. In addition, the quality indicators of the resulting products are given. This chapter also describes the current state of urea producers in Russia, Belarus and other EAEU countries, and describes new projects for the production of urea.

The fourth chapter of the report provides data on foreign trade operations with urea in Russia, Belarus and other EAEU countries for the period 1999-2023.

The fifth chapter provides information on the price level for urea on the domestic Russian market in 2000-2024. The chapter also analyzes data on changes in export-import prices for urea in Russia and Ukraine from 1999 to 2024.

The sixth chapter of the report examines urea consumption in Russia and the EAEU countries. This section shows the production-consumption balances of these products, the industry structure of consumption, describes the current state of the main industries consuming urea, lists the main consumers and the current state and development prospects of the largest consumer enterprises.

The seventh chapter of the report provides a forecast for the development of the Russian urea market for the period until 2030.

The appendix provides the addresses and contact information of enterprises producing urea in Russia and the EAEU countries. The addresses and contact information of the main urea consumer enterprises in Russia are also given.

Target audience of the study:

- ammonium nitrate market participants – producers, consumers, traders;

- potential investors.

The proposed study claims to be a reference guide for marketing services and specialists making management decisions working in the mineral fertilizer market.
