This work is an overview of mineral reserves and mining of mineral raw materials in African countries in terms of metals.

The purpose of the study is to review the mining of metal ores, the production of concentrates and metals in African countries, and the supply of these types of products to world markets.

This market has been monitored since 2018.

The object of the study is mineral reserves, mining and processing of mineral raw materials in African countries.

Chronological scope of the study: 2018-2022, forecast – 2024-2030.

Geography of the study: Africa – a comprehensive detailed analysis, the world and Russia – a brief description.

This work is a desk research. Data from the statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan) were used as sources of information; UN international databases (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); Unified information system in the field of procurement; railway transport statistics; VLSI databases; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; industry and regional press, conference materials, Internet sites of manufacturing enterprises and consumers of the products under study; scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), FIPS patent database; Infomine database, etc.

The report consists of 139 pages, contains 14 chapters, including 68 tables, 21 figures.

The first eleven chapters of the review are devoted to strategically important metals - platinum group metals, tantalum, cobalt, manganese, chromium, zirconium, aluminum, titanium, uranium, gold and copper. For each metal, information on mineral reserves in African countries has been collected; ore mining was considered; summarized information on new mining projects; a study of the metallurgical capacities of African countries for key metals was carried out; examined export flows of ores, concentrates and metals from African countries; the activities of Russian companies regarding African mineral resources were analyzed.

In the twelfth chapter of the review, other metals (vanadium, iron, rare earth elements, gallium and others) are briefly discussed using the same scheme.

Chapter 13 draws conclusions based on the information collected.

Chapter 14 of the review analyzes the general prospects for the development of mineral reserves and the production of mineral raw materials in African countries and provides forecasts for 2030.

A special feature of the report is a detailed analysis of all critical metals for the global economy from the African continent, as well as an analysis of their international supplies and a profile of the main market players.

Target audience of the study:

- participants in the market of strategic metals and materials based on them;

- producers, processors, consumers, traders;

- potential investors.

The proposed study claims to be a reference guide for specialists making management decisions working in the market of strategic metals and materials based on them.
