This report is the thirteenth edition of the sulfuric acid and oleum market research in the CIS countries.

Market monitoring has been carried out since 2002.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the Russian and EAEU markets for sulfuric acid.

The object of study is sulfuric acid and oleum.

A distinctive feature of this study is the inclusion in the objects of study, in addition to sulfuric acid (monohydrate, spent sulfuric acid), also oleum (production volumes and supplies by manufacturer). The sources of raw materials used are described in sufficient detail, as well as the directions and volumes of their supplies.

In addition, the review contains detailed information on the sulfuric acid market of all EAEU countries, the contribution of which to the total output of the products in question in the post-Soviet space is very significant. A brief description of the global market is also given.

The work presented is a desk research. Data from the statistical committees of the EAEU countries (including Rosstat, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan) were used as sources of information; UN international databases (UNdata), World Bank, Eurostat; international and European trade data (UN Comtrade, Trade Map); Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (until 2022); Unified information system in the field of procurement; railway transport statistics; VLSI databases; foreign specialized companies; annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers; industry and regional press, conference materials, Internet sites of manufacturing enterprises and consumers of the products under study; scientific and technical literature (elibrary, etc.), FIPS patent database; InfoMine database, etc.

Chronological scope of the study: 1994-2023; forecast – 2024-2030

Geography of the study: Russian Federation – comprehensive detailed market analysis; The Republic of Kazakhstan, Belarus and other EAEU countries - general retrospective market analysis, world market - brief analysis.

The report consists of 8 parts, contains 122 pages, including 45 tables, 27 figures and 3 appendices.

The first chapter of the report provides a brief analysis of the global sulfuric acid market.

The second chapter provides information about methods for producing sulfuric acid and the raw materials used in industry, and discusses the directions and volumes of supplies of raw materials to sulfuric acid producers.

The third chapter is devoted to the analysis of H2SO4 production for the period 1994-2023. in the EAEU. The section provides data on production volumes, traces the dynamics of production of these products at enterprises in Russia and Kazakhstan, and examines the current state of the main producers of sulfuric acid in the Russian Federation. Data is provided on the available raw material base, production volumes, plans for the development of enterprises, as well as data on the volumes and directions of product supplies in recent years.

The fourth chapter examines foreign trade operations with sulfuric acid in the Russian Federation and other EAEU countries with an analysis of the volumes and directions of export-import supplies.

The fifth chapter is devoted to consideration of the dynamics of prices for sulfuric acid in the domestic Russian and foreign markets of the Russian Federation and other EAEU countries.

The sixth chapter of the report discusses the consumption of sulfuric acid. This section contains a balance of production in the Russian Federation and other EAEU countries and the structure of consumption of these products in Russia, discusses the main areas of application and the main consumer enterprises of sulfuric acid, and also describes methods for recycling excess sulfuric acid.

The seventh chapter discusses some aspects of transporting sulfuric acid to the Russian Federation.

The eighth chapter provides a forecast of production and prices for sulfuric acid in the Russian Federation for the period until 2030.

The appendices provide the addresses and contact information of the main manufacturing enterprises and consumers of sulfuric acid, as well as the in-plant consumption of sulfuric acid by manufacturing enterprises.

Target audience of the study:

- sulfuric acid market participants – producers, consumers, traders;

- potential investors.

The proposed study purports to be a reference guide for marketing services and management decision makers working in the sulfuric acid market.
