This report is currently available in Russian language only. However, we can provide an English version of the report within 3 weeks after receiving a payment.

This report is the sixth edition of flat glass market research in the CIS.

Market monitoring has been ongoing since 2008.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the market for flat glass in Russia and the CIS countries.

The object of the study is colorless flat glass produced by float technology, as well as glass, tinted in bulk and glass with special coatings (low emission and sun protection).

This work is a desk study. As sources of information, we used data from the Federal State Statistics Service, the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, statistics on railway transportation of the Russian Federation, and Statistical Committees of the CIS countries, used data from the UNdata database, industry and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of issuers of securities, and also the websites of sheet glass manufacturers.

The peculiarity of this study is that it covers not only the Russian market, but also the markets of other CIS countries. Also in the review, the glass was divided by type, data are given not only for sheet glass as a whole, but also for special types of glass (stained and coated glass).

Chronological scope of the study: 2000-6 months 2019, forecast - 2019-2025.

Study geography: Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus - a comprehensive detailed market analysis, other CIS countries (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan) - a general retrospective market analysis.

The report consists of 7 parts, contains 191 pages, including 59 tables, 50 figures and 1 appendix.

The first chapter of the report describes the types of flat glass and the technology for their production.

The second chapter presents data on the reserves and deposits of the main types of raw materials for the production of flat glass in the CIS.

The third chapter of the report is devoted to the production of flat glass in the CIS countries (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan). This section provides statistics on the production of these products in 2000-2016, the regional and commodity structure of production, and also describes the current state of the main sheet glass manufacturers in the CIS. In addition, the main projects for the construction of sheet glass enterprises in the CIS are described.

The fourth chapter analyzes foreign trade operations with sheet glass in Russia (2000-2019), Ukraine (2005-2018), Belarus (2006-2018), as well as other CIS countries. Data on the volumes of export and import of the studied products in physical and monetary terms are given, and the regional and commodity supply structure is estimated.

The fifth chapter is devoted to the analysis of the pricing environment of the Russian glass market. This section discusses the dynamics of changes in prices for flat glass in the domestic market of the Russian Federation in recent years, provides an overview of export-import prices.

The sixth chapter of the report on the consumption of flat glass shows the balance of production and consumption of these products in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, assesses the dynamics of the “visible” consumption of flat glass. Also in this section, the sectoral, commodity and regional structure of Russian glass consumption is presented, an analysis of the situational development of the construction industry in Russia is given.

The seventh chapter of the report provides a forecast for the development of the Russian sheet glass market until 2025.

The appendix contains contact information of the main manufacturers of flat glass in the CIS.

The target audience of the study:

- flat glass market participants - manufacturers, consumers, traders;

- potential investors.

The proposed study claims to be a reference tool for marketing services and specialists making management decisions working in the flat glass market.
