This report is the third edition of a study of the Russian hydrogen market and equipment for its production in 2004-2017.

 

The purpose of the study is to analyze the Russian hydrogen market and equipment for its production.

The object of research is hydrogen.

 

This work is a desk study. Information sources of Rosstat, customs statistics of the Russian Federation, railway transportations of the Russian Federation, UNDate international trade operations, InfoMine database, as well as materials of the branch and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of securities issuers, Internet sites of producers and hydrogen consumers.

 

Chronological scope of the study: 2004-2017; forecast - 2018-2030.

Geography of the study: The Russian Federation - a comprehensive detailed analysis of the market.

 

The report consists of 7 parts, contains 138 pages, including 20 figures, 45 tables and 4 applications.

The first chapter of the report is devoted to the technology of hydrogen production. It deals with methods of hydrogen production, equipment for its production, developers and equipment suppliers (Russian and foreign).

The second chapter reflects the production of hydrogen in Russia in 2004-2017. In this section, the qualitative indicators of the products are given. The characteristics of those few enterprises that produce commercial hydrogen for the purpose of supplying it to the domestic market are given, as well as specialized gas companies engaged in the sale of hydrogen.

The third chapter considers the structure of hydrogen prices: the cost of production, transportation, storage. The prices of hydrogen suppliers in 2017-2018 are given.

The fourth chapter is devoted to the consumption of hydrogen in Russia. It examines the volume and structure of hydrogen consumption in 2004-2017. This chapter presents summary tables on hydrogen consumption by industry and enterprises, and describes hydrogen projects currently being implemented in Russian companies.

Foreign trade in hydrogen is practically not carried out, because there is no network of hydrogen pipelines. There are only small gas deliveries in bottles that do not have a noticeable effect on the domestic market. Therefore, there is no section devoted to the export-import of hydrogen in this work.

The fifth and sixth chapters are devoted to the transportation and storage of hydrogen.

In the seventh chapter the forecast of production and consumption of hydrogen in Russia up to 2030 is given.

The appendices contain data on hydrotreatment and hydrocracking plants at the Russian refineries, as well as contact information of the main Russian enterprises that produce and supply commercial hydrogen to the domestic market.

 

The target audience of the study:

- participants in the hydrogen market - producers, consumers, traders;

- potential investors.

 

The proposed study claims to be a reference tool for marketing services and specialists who make management decisions that work in the hydrogen market.
