This report is the thirteenth edition of the market research for soda ash (sodium carbonate) in the CIS countries.

Market monitoring has been underway since August 1996.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the Russian and CIS countries of soda ash markets.

The object of study is soda ash and its consumption.

This work is a desk study. As sources of information, we used data from the Federal State Statistics Service, the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, official statistics on rail transportation of Russian Railways, the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Statistics, and the State Customs Service of Ukraine; used materials of the US State Geological Survey (USGS), data from the UNdata database, industry and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of issuers of securities, websites of enterprises producing soda ash, as well as data obtained from telephone interviews with employees of consumer companies of this reagent .

Chronological scope of the study: 1999-2019; the forecast is 2020-2025.

Research geography: Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ukraine - a comprehensive detailed analysis of the market; Armenia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan - general retrospective market analysis; the rest of the world - general information about the dynamics and characteristics of the market.

 

The report consists of 7 parts, contains 223 pages, including 39 figures, 81 tables and 2 appendices.

The first chapter of the report gives a brief description of the world market of sodium carbonate (stocks of natural soda, production, prices, export-import of soda ash).

The second chapter of the report provides information about the raw materials needed for the production of soda ash, its characteristics. Also in this chapter, sodium carbonate production technology is discussed in detail. In addition, data on the main suppliers of raw materials, directions and volumes of supplies are presented.

The third chapter of the review is devoted to the production of soda ash in the CIS countries. This section provides statistics on the volume of soda production in Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan (1999-2019). In addition, the quality indicators of the products are given.

The fourth chapter presents data on foreign trade operations with soda ash in Russia for the period 1998-2019. and in Ukraine for the period 1999-2018. In addition, data are presented on the import of soda to Belarus, Kazakhstan and other CIS countries (2004-2018).

The fifth chapter provides information on the level of prices for various brands of soda in the domestic Russian market (1999-2019). In addition, data on changes in export-import prices for soda ash in Russia and Ukraine (1999-2019) were analyzed.

The sixth chapter discusses the consumption of soda ash in Russia and Ukraine. This section presents the balance of production - consumption of these products, the sectoral structure of consumption, the main consumers, as well as the current status and development prospects of the largest consumer enterprises.

The seventh chapter presents the forecast for the development of the market of soda ash in Russia (production and consumption) for the period until 2025.

The appendices provide address and contact information for the main enterprises that produce and consume soda ash in the CIS countries.
